Cat vs. Mouse

I decided to make the cats a toy with the catnip that I had purchased last week. I found a super cute pattern for a mouse amigurumi and figured it would suit the purpose very well! I did make a few changes to the pattern though. I did both row 9 & 11 twice. Also, rather than doing two parts to the ears, which I know the pointy eared bastards would tear apart, I just needle felted some brightly coloured roving into the centres of the ears.


Cute, right? Well the cuteness didn't last for long - that is, once the boys got a hold of him!


Look at those mother-effing claws! They didn't name him Captain Claws for nothing!



Weeze seems harmless most of the time, but few realise that a killer hides inside of him!

Heinrich decides to get cocky and see how close he can get to Cupcake before she snaps.



Pretty close indeed but based on that evil eye she's giving him, she's about to show him who's the Queen of the apartment and I'm pretty sure it's not him.

I stabbed a seal into existance and I only bled twice!

My brother has been in town for the last two weeks before he and his girlfriend move to China to teach English. We grabbed a bite to eat downtown yesterday after and while waiting for the bus, we decided to take a peak inside to get out from the cold - and I should make a point to mention that it wasn't really cold, my brother never thought to wear a jacket when he came to pick me up. In this bookstore I came across the cutest book and I had to get it -Little Felted Animals It was too adorable not to buy. Plus, I've been wanting to learn how to properly needle felt and not just needle felt appliqués. There are so many cute little projects to make in this book but I decided to go for what appeared to be the easiest - an adorable little seal.





We named him Heinrich.

Starling, sweet starling.

I made some bags. I've actually made a tonne of bags but they are all in different stages completeness. Most are like 90% done - add handle or maybe a liner, embellishment, that sort of thing. I know I should finish one project before I start another one but it's not the way I operate. I get bored easily. When I start working on a project for a couple days in a row, I tend to put it down and work on something else for a bit. Below are three bags that I made from futuregirl's Starling handbag pattern that I pattern tested for her back in the spring. Loves.



Now this one I sorta, technically made for my sister. And then I sorta started using it so I'm keeping it for myself. Sorry Beck, I'm sure I'll make something to replace it. Promises.



The reason I kept it was because of the fabric inside. I sooooo love this fabric.



I like this one, it's a little more reserved.



It's even classy on the inside.



This one I made on the 6 hour train ride I took from Halifax to Miramichi a couple weeks ago when I went to go visit my parents and check our their new house (which is awesome by the way). I think I ended up making three or four bags that weekend. My wrists were burning by the end of it. Burning.



I think I might use this fabric again for another bag but one in white or black. Ooooh, black, yeah, black. Now I just need to find some black cotton yarn in Halifax. I swear, I can't find it anywhere.

Mmmm....fruit!

I'm in the process of making a bunch of crocheted fruit for the bowl that sits on my dining room table. Yesterday I tackled a lime.

I stitched the face, added the eyes and added most of the stuffing at this point

Weave in ends and you're done! I also needle felted the rosy cheeks at this point.
