Okay, I'm back. You can all calm down.

It's been a crazy week and a half. I quit one job, moved into a new apartment and started a new job. Everything has changed.

Good news - I heart my new apartment. It's twice the size of my old place. So far the new job seems alright. I love walking to work.

Bad news - I've done very little crafting over the past week and a half. It's been itching to get out but with everything in boxes, it required more effort than I was willing to give. Except for today. And today I sorta cheated. Really, all I did was cut apart two previous necklaces that I made and never got around to wearing, and made something new with them. It happens frequently. I figure if I don't get around wearing it 6 months after I made it, I probably never will. So I just end up cutting them apart and reworking them. For this project I just used the felt beads I made previously and mixed them with some polymer clay beads that I made from a rainbow skinner blend.

Now my itch has been scratched. And that's how I roll.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

So today was my last day working for HP. And tonight is my last night sleeping in my apartment. So much has changed in the past week and a half and all I know is by the end of the weekend, I'll be exhausted. So here's the story. I've been looking at getting a bigger apartment because the one I have right now is just too small for all my stuff. Three years ago, it wasn't an issue. It was the first time that I had ever lived alone and I had just moved from Calgary so I didn't have many belongings. But as a packrat, my belongings kept growing and growing and now I keep stumbling into boxes of stuff and furniture every time I turned around. If I wanted to move out, I had to put my three months notice at the end of May. But then I found a larger two bedroom (CRAFT ROOM!!) apartment that was a 15 minute walk from my new job and with my current property management company so I could just transfer over my lease from one building to another. Although it was available immediately, my plan was to move at the end of the month so I had time to pack and what not. But unfortunately my parents were only available this weekend to help me move. So I'm moving. Tomorrow morning. And this was only decided this afternoon. Needless to say, I'm stressed. And tired.

But I just have to keep reminding myself is that I'm going from this

To this

With that said, it's safe to say that I'll be offline for a week or so. I'll be too busy unpacking to make anything and obviously I have yet to contact my internet company to switch my account over to the new place. Wish me luck!

They aren't what you call "pretty".....

I made a batch of peanut butter cupcakes for the boys and girls at work. I figured it would be a nice thing to do since Thursday will be my last day working with most of them. I've been offered a position at a new company and I've accepted it and I start on Monday! I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time. The only thing that is calming my nerves is that my friend Justin will be in the same training class with me! He and I were actually in the same training class at HP way back in the day - and we're the only two left!

But back to the cupcakes. Like I said, they aren't pretty but they taste good. I was hoping to do a peanut butter chocolate ganache as a frosting but when I got home I discovered I only had unsweetened chocolate in my cupboard. So instead of frosting, I put a miniature Reese peanut butter cup inside of each cupcake. I've been known to use them a lot in my baking. Brownies, cookies, cupcakes, etc. You can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate. I used a recipe that I found over at allrecipes.com but I altered it slightly. The recipe only called for 1 cup of peanut butter but when I make any peanut butter baked goods, I want them to taste like peanut butter. None of this "hint of peanut butter" crap. So increased it to about 1 1/3 cup instead. That seemed to do the trick. They turned out as yummy as always. Not too sweet, moist and a bit cumbly. Try the recipe out, it's delicious.
